Received necklaces from KnockedKneedHen - they are beautiful and I am sure I won't get to wear a one with the three DDs around. Sure got here quickly

Also got the Garfield fabric lot from MeepItQueenie - haven't decided yet what I'm going to make for the Garfield nut in this family, but it will be warm.
I have two swaps that will be going out soon (hopefully tomorrow)
Weather is changing up here - we may have a freeze on Wednesday night. Supposed to get down to 29

And I'm just starting to get my vine crops out of the garden. That being said, it is one of the later freezes for up here. Many years I'm covering up everything in mid August. Hope we get a little Fall this year instead of going straight into winter.

BHep - 6 of the Gold Laced Polish hatched - the 7th died in its shell. Pipped and everything, could see it and hear it, but it must have been too weak. So how long till I can figure out which are roos and which are pullets? Winter is on its way and I'm going to have to do some fast sorting, I'm thinking

Such a long day! I went and added a perch over at the coop (my coop is at my sister's house, darn city ordinances keep me from having one here). Saturday I bought a RL Cornish roo, 3 black jersey hens and a dark brahma hen (sooo pretty), all 4 months old. I added them in at night hoping for the best. The flock i have now I bought 2 weeks ago and they're 4 years old+ (it was a deal and people around me had only been selling "thai" chickens, ugly). Anyway, the old hens are kicking the crap out of my roo and light bhrama, so i got rid of the 2 biggest trouble makers and one of the new hens, just because 2 of them looked too much a like and my sister couldn't name them. Poor roo, hopefully he'll figure out he's supposed to be in charge.

ps CoopScoop...i think i saw movement in a maran egg, i don't want to be too hopeful, but it isn't as opaque as some of the other eggs and i swear my pinky wasn't twitching. I have dub the egg "Hope" and if its a roo, he'll be Opie.

Sorry I've stalled the swap thread again. I added some items, just not adding eggs. I'm headed to work and won't be home till after 6:30 this evening so if it's still stalled after what corancher feels is enough time she can recind my bid on the iris and go back to previous offer.

Ummmm... I am not sure how old to sex... at least 10 weeks plus. The roosters will have the spiky hairdo... and the hen will have the bofondu. ( not sure how to spell that) .

I have my incubator off and it will be for about 3 more weeks, but darned if the silkie didn't go broody. So I stuffed 6 bantam Orp eggs under her. They are laying so horribly it has taken me 8 days to get those from 2 hens.

. How am I ever going to ship out the 2 egg orders I have. Darn birds!
