I want that black and white chicken!
And the peacock!!

The black & white is a Molted D'Uccle.... I have a small flock of them. They have not started laying yet.

The white is my favorite from yoda's eggs. Cochin or Cochin mix, not sure. I am hoping it is a hen...but think it just may be a roo.

Peacocks are normally not mean. The problem with peacocks is they are not cold hardy and get sick easy in our cold weather if you don't have a good barn to keep them in that isn't drafty. I love them but can't keep them here with my barn. The one downfall I don't like about them is there poo..... It stinks bad. But, it stinks worse if they get stressed out almost like death.

Beth, Your Cesar is amazing. I love to see Peafowl, but don't think I am up for them as pets.

We live near a large peafowl breeder and took his fall farm tour to see all the birds. I bet we saw over 400 birds that day, in over 100 colors. I had no idea there were so many.

My Peacocks are fairly tame. They will eat from my hand if it is something really good. The younger ones that I raised in the house are by far friendlier. I have never found them to be aggressive at all.
I never noticed the poop smelling any worse then the chickens.

But I only have 4 adults & 2 juvis (in a seperate coop)

I do not let them run loose. I am sure they would disappear.

There are lots of peacocks in Florida , but they are so noisy I wouldn't keep them. Worse than guineas, the adult males really make a racket. Plus they are not mature for 2 years. Too expensive to raise, but pretty.

Oh, the best thing about peacocks is the pretty sound they make. I loved hearing the male call out. I just can't keep them here. My barn has too many drafts. The adults usually fair well but the juvi's don't.
