Had to share this.........

I hatched 4 Aracauna from Ray N Debi. Sun. night, we locked up and one was missing from the hutch and no where to be found in the barn or chicken pen.

Mon. morning me & the kids head out to the barn and here he comes running as fast as he can. I bend down and he flops right into my arms.

I LOVE THIS LITTLE GUY

Don't know where he spent the night, but he was outside the pen by himself. Needless to say he was squeezed and smooched by all and he loved every minute of it. He has been right where he belongs every night since.

IDK about shipping boxes, sorry. But I had to share about my day being brightened up up boxes of eggs from Beth and Michelle, and some test eggs that are so huge they must be geese:-D Thank you so much ladies, love my eggies!:)

where do i get a chicken shipping box? how much do they cost and how do i ship a bird. ???

help.

I order from www.boxesforbirds.com I personally like the size of their boxes and they ship very very quickly (Fedex). Just ordered one last night and one just about five minutes ago, very simple and takes about a minute and can be paid for thru paypal. A two bird box is $22 including shipping.

Birds get shipped USPS Express Mail, you can now print the shipping label online and it really cuts the cost. Weigh the box with birds in it and just fill out the info online! I use paypal for all my bird transactions, that way you have a way to keep track of what you did with who and able to create your shipping label right from there.

Hope this helps.

I wonder if she got our eggs mixed up?

I hatched two yesterday from her that were marked B/B/S and they both look to be partridge!

That one can still turn out to be a partridge but a blue partridge. or even a porcelain.

If you have a local hatchery that you can drive to it would be way cheaper on you. It is expensive to ship. If not got to Boxes for birds. They are by far the cheapest to buy shipped boxes from.
As for shipping them if they are chicks meaning just hatched and sending them now they would go Priority mail in a chick box. If they are over a day old they must go Express mail in a usps approved shipping box. Put pine shavings down in the box for bedding and some fruit or veggie's in the box for them to munch on and keep hydrated for there journey. I like to pump them up a day or two of vitamin water before they ship out to make sure they are good and strong for there trip. You can also put hard boiled or scrambled egg in the box with them. I like to make them hard boiled or scrambled and feed to them before shipping and sometimes put it in the box with them if they are going to spend a couple of days in the mail.

Hope that helps a little. Also you will need to call your post office to get approval before shipping out any birds. You just call them and tell them you have birds that need to be shipped out today. They will ask you weight, zip code and express or priority.

Awwwww. He must have been so cold and very glad to see you!

I had 3 MF D'uccles shipped to me from Ohio and it was $51.00 (just postage)but they were in great shape, warm, snuggled and laid 2 eggs in the box. Yes the boxes are prices. link for boxes http://www.fortune3.com/Shop@Horizon/New_Single_Stalls-New_Single_Stalls_RTG.html
