Sex-link folks - I have a question. Black Copper Marans roo over Barred Rock hens - are all the chicks black, or do some hatch blue (gray)? I hatched 13 chicks a couple of days ago. I know 4 are pure BR, 4 are pure Swedish Flower Hen, 4 are BR with either BCM or SFH roo, and one is SFH with either SFH or BCM roo. I have a blue (gray) chick with feathered shanks, so I know the BCM is papa, but I am trying to figure out if the mama is BR or SFH. What do you think?

Been busy w ith chicks, chicks, chicks! 2 more bators due to hatch any day now... Here are they are and if my count is correct I have (so far)

4 FBCM
7 MF D'Uccle
20 Polish
3 Mystery



So Does anyone know what breed these are and which swapper sweetie sent them? They are all amazing but these guys are really bright and bold. Mostley black and white with a very tiny bit of browm. Slate legs. Tiny like D'Uccle or serama chick.

It just spiraled. Just 6 eggs from a swap. Then so on and so on. Let me know, where, when and how LOL My sister and I would love some more of your eggs. Thier always great. I recently get her started raising chickens again too.

Mary just my opinion, but I think normally 6 is good because that about as many as you can squeeze in a small box to keep the shipping reasonable. A lot of people L

Stop that now you are making me want Polish again. I always loved those chicks. And mix them with Silkies and I lose all control.

A polish and a silkie???? Now that's a great idea. But I think my polish roo would be too rough on a silkie girl. But wow just think of the cute chickens
