I dont really know when i got it cause I haven't been on in forever. But I would like to thank everyone that swap's cause I am sure it was one of you that thought i was a good freind. This is the "BEST DAY EVER" I get a Freind award and I just ordered 5 chicks from Meyer Hatchery.

P.S. Did the eggs hatch Anderson8505?

Yup, I got 5/9, pretty good. Thank you!

That's wonderful. I am glad you got them cause if I would have tried to hatch them they all would not have hatched. I sold my little giant incubator cause i never got very much from it, and I spent a lot of money to get it, plus a lot of parts kept breaking. So I decided to convert one of my old coolers into a incubator and I hatched 7 out of 8 which is way better than what I got from the Little Giant. How old are the chicks now? Did you ever post pics cause I can probaly track them down. :D

I know it's kind of off topic but... My chickens have worms so I bought some Waxine 7 and mixed 2 TBS per gallon and gave them 2 gallons so 4TBS of it. They have had it for a day and a half and I dont think they have had very much so I am wondering if they arnt drinking because it tastes bad and if so how do I make it taste a little more desirable?
Thanks

I'd worm them orally directly myself, not from a waterer. I sold all the chicks at a swap in May. Reed Bailey was really happy to get the Anconas. Someday I'll keep some, I just had too many birds around here for my own good.

I know a lot people worm by adding it to the water but I worm them orally using valbazine or by using ivermectin topically. I alternate which 1 I use since they don't cover the same worms. I know some people don't do it this way but it works good for me. my girls are all fat and healthy and also mite free. It takes longer if you have a lot of birds but then you know they all get the right amount of meds and that its not getting diluted, spilled or concentrated from evaporation.
Just My 2 cents

So I went to buy 2 ducks today and ended up buying 4 :)  white runner, fawn white runner, magpie and muscovy all females. there were eggs on the floor so I asked if I could gather them and he said yes so I got 12 eggs too(those were free) I am going to set them in a couple of days and see if they are any good. I think I have a problem because who in their right mind asks if they can pick eggs off the floor of someone elses barn!!???

If any of them are muscovy eggs, they take 35 days to hatch, of course if they where all running together the eggs might hatch between 28-35 days, and you could end up with (sterile) mule ducks, they should be good or meat. You could also set any of the eggs your new ducks lay (if they are laying), they should still be fertile for a while, I know with chickens its 3-6 weeks.

Went out to St George Island, Fl today, friend has a house rented for the week (its her "payment" for watching this lady's expensive horses last month). Mom was off today, so we packed up everything last night and left at 4:45am. It takes about 3 hours to get there. We spent the morning fishing of the dock behind the house (didn't catch much), grilled some burgers, then went down to the beach to swim for 2 hours. Then we came back to try and fish some more, but the tide went out and it was only a foot deep at the end of the dock and they didn't have a boat to go out deeper.
Got my face, neck and arms burnt :/ . I was wearing a shirt and shorts while we where fishing, so I didn't think about putting on sunscreen because that's what's usually exposed (I have tan arms, the rest of me is white, white white  ) I'm not much for layin out or tanning. I'm not seriously burnt because I slathered it on thick at lunch, but I'm as red as a lobster. I've put on aloe twice now since 7 (its 10 here now), about to get in the shower because I just finished checking the chickens, got home about 9. Ill put on another layer after I shower, and again in the morning, I hope I don't peel.

OH what a small world! My friend has a home on Dog Island, right next to St George. Sorry you're burned up, though! Keep aloe-ing, you can also use a burn spray to take the sting out, or vinegar.
