So i want bantams! I only had 3 bantam hens and 2 days ago one got killed by something.

I don't even know what because all I found was a big pile of feathers under a tree, and then 24 hours later, the next morning, I see my dog eating the body! It mysteriously appeared under the same tree. There was no blood anywhere and the body was literally gone 24hrs so I don't think he killed her, I think he just ate the dead body. Plus he is not a bird killer. He thinks its his job to herd them. I consulted the predators board and a lot of people said it didn't sound like a hawk, which is what I thought it must be.

Anyway, so now I only have to 2 bantam hens, and 4 stinkin bantam roosters. *sigh* I love batam eggs too!

I am getting polish, tolbunt mix,and naked neck frizzle eggs at the end of august. Polish are bantams right?

I'm sorry about you losing your hen. That is the pits. It sounds to me like it could have been an owl. They are big enough to have had it in the tree and then dropped it during the night.

Yes, silkies are bantams...... but you can get but there are bantam polish too. My roo weighed a little more than 6 pounds. But he is in the freezer now for being a MEAN roo. My polish eggs were what I considered medium size.

Yes, silkies are bantams...... but you can get but there are bantam polish too. My roo weighed a little more than 6 pounds. But he is in the freezer now for being a MEAN roo. My polish eggs were what I considered medium size.

I had a turkey the same way.

My polish roo is a LF. But my banty mixes could be part polish since he is in the pen

Just talked to the NPIP tester. She's coming tomorrow night. Will have my NPIP certification in about 2 weeks
