I like the 3 swaps per week limit, however, make any swap that stalls for eight or ten ours open to anybody, including those who have already done their three swaps for the week.  This would slow the regulars down just enough to give people with limited internet access a chance to claim if they want to.

I like this idea. Or a couple bonus swaps per month on an honor system.

That's a really good idea!!! If it has stalled for several hours, chances are the people who still have swaps left are waiting to save their swaps. Since there may be others who want what is offered, that would get the thread moving again...

I don't swap as often as many of you but I know there are times I've checked in here and couldn't believe someone's offer was up for as long as it was. I think allowing at least 12 hours for people who may not have access to a computer during the work day, and are dealing with meals, children, chickens

, etc when they first get home, to have a chance to claim a stalled swap before others go past their 3 would be fair. I think 3 "stalled claims" would keep things moving.

Interesting ideas for the swap... I like the idea of limiting how many times per day someone can swap.. maybe I'm just silly, but letting others claim if it gets stalled seems like it would be hard to keep track of, unless it was strictly on an honor system...

That is a great idea, then you don't have to worry about rolling back the offer and having to have someone in charge of counting those hours and being the official person/s to roll it back. This would probably help also with people who would feel reluctant to offer because they are afraid their offer won't be taken (especially later in the week). I think 12 hours, like NotaFarm suggested, would give those that aren't able to check in all that often a chance on taking an offer and a little more time for people claiming an offer in the evening.
