every single one of us that hatches now, had never hatched eggs before at one point.........you will never be able to if you don't try!
I am on my third hatch...each is a little better. I tweak it each time with humidity and temps....kinda like a science experiment. I held eggs for 3 weeks from my own flock to see if they would hatch this time. I have some shipped eggs in there too. It's a lot of fun as most of us here will tell you. We certainly will not discourage you from it...

Nope, definitely no discouragement...not from me anyway! I love hatching, even if I only get 1 chick or turk out of a set...I am happy, it's a miracle to watch the development from an egg to a chick/poult. It never gets old! I think the anticipation is a natural high for me.
X10 here...i love watching the process too. I just hatched ducks recently and I REALLY liked that...lots of movement going on in those little shells and then a huge duck comes out. it amazed me that they were so big in that little shell.

I didn't add them, ugh! 11 perfect, cute little Cayugas hatched from sebrightmom, she sent 18, 15 made it to lockdown, 1 died after hatch and 3 didn't pip/hatch. And a few of the ones that hatched, pipped at the wrong end and I helped them but they are alive and healthy!
I didn't know their placenta(?) was so sticky and so much of it!
