I think I like veggies more on the well done side than most folks. And giving green beans or broccoli a brown tinge is like giving them that roasted flavor without actually roasting them.

There was a time I used to take them off the heat and shock them with cold water to keep the green color. But now I'm not as picky.

For a change, last night I boiled my asparagus for five minutes. Usually I roast it, but I wanted to change things up.
I actually ran into a recipe on the net that said boil them for 90 seconds.
I wasn't that adventurous. Five minutes was good. And the extra crispiness was good, too.
