This is just....not logical....hot air does not 'fry' food, it bakes it, right?

Correct. My research (limited to today) is saying it's basically a countertop convection oven. That would explain all the oil peeps use to coat the "air fried" food of choice.

My reading up on them is showing results that basically anything you would cook in the big oven can be done in the "air fryer".

My oven bakes normal or convection I was sceptical but determined I love the convection but mine is gas

That's what I thought......silly fad/marketing....SMH.

A revved up, and larger, toaster oven. :D

Convection oven would be neat tho, my aunt had one way back in the day, she had 3 ovens.
