So many cucumber salads. I haven't made one in years. I always enjoyed grabbing the bowl out of the fridge and just snacking on it.
My mother used to make it two ways, with apple cider vinegar, onions (I'll assume S&P) and ice cubes in the serving bowl. I couldn't tell you if she watered it down or not, but probably.
And my favorite way, with onions, S&P and half mayo and sour cream.
I need to make one of those soon. What with all these farmers' cukes for sale everywhere.
Tonight I'm going to finally use up the beef tips I made the other night. I've got what looks like a good Ken Click YT video recipe for the dough that works in the mini pie maker, and I'll make a couple mini pot pies. I picked up the shortening earlier today when I was out. That's not something I keep in my pantry. I thought they had a medium size like some coffee cans, but it's either big or small.
I'm going to have to find some recipes that call for shortening, as I bought the big one.
