Whatcha think

Very cute. Agree on pullet. A few of us have been discussing our almost identical Olive Eggers on another thread and expect they are Cream Legbar/Marans (either cuckoo or black copper).

Fun to see another. I'm a sucker for those little crests.

When we bought ours we had no idea she would get a crest. It’s so cute!! Out of our 10 “sexed” chickens we ended up with four males! So we went back to the store to get more because we know we can’t keep the males. Well my son decided to pick a full on crested chicken and changed it’s chickens names to pinky and the brain.

what breeds mix is your olive egger? I would love to have that chicken, it is beautiful
I have no idea. We got our from a feed store. They gave us some gorgeous chickens. At first it was really hard to tell it apart from our cockoo maran. I can call the feed store and see. They work close with the breeders

Haha! Pinky and the brain. I love it.

Our olive egger came in a rare assortment from Meyer so we were similarly surprised when that little crest started popping up. She was also our escape artist as a chick so her name is Carmen Hendiego after the old "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego" show.

Here's a photo. She looked almost exactly like yours at that age but has since developed some gold around her neck. And it's now clear that the white specks she had when younger is light barring or cuckoo pattern. She's 13ish weeks now.

So I called the feed store and they said it’s an ameraucana mixed with a maran

Interesting. That is definitely one of the olive egger combos but neither of those typically have a crest. I guess you could have Americaunas (Easter Eggers) with Cream Legbar in them.

Given the crest, my guess would be the breeder is experimenting with Cream Legbar and Marans crosses. Who knows, though. Beautiful bird regardless!
