Ok, how about this

I have a question about the daylilies I have received in the swap. Is it better to plant them right in full sun where they were intended to go? Do they need that full sun to get going again, or should they be in temporary containers to put out a few roots and get more of a dappled sunlight, while they recover? Our temps around here are in the 90's during the day.

Hi there!! I would just put them where you want...they will recover nicely...thats why you trim them or all the green will wilt and it would take longer to recover...thats my personal experience..ps..mine are in full sun and we average 90-100 everyday...just water well...they are almost bullet proof...and even I cant kill em'...lol

, Most of mine are in a shady area. I have always just put my in the ground watered once and they have always lived. I'm a "plant murderer"...just ask my houseplants (oh wait, you can't they're dead!!) yet the day lilies seem to survive the wrath of my brown thumb.
