I got a very nice fishing rod from my brother and his family, reel attached. He didn't know but I actually bought myself a very nice rod/reel on black Friday... the first black Friday I ever participated in. (it was pretty easy, I only waited in line 10-15 minutes). I will still use his rod as my other doesn't break down.. Other than that I got a $60 gift card to Amazon.com... great gift because Amazon has everything. That is about it. I'm happy, gifts are always just a bonus to catching up with your family.

How did your family do?

We didn't bother much with gifts this year, since the relatives and friends are all abroad. Our landlord brought us a lovely assortment of cookies though, partly for Xmas and to say thanks for offloading my extra eggs on him! Kiddo lucked out because we bought him 2 nice presents. We couldn't decide which to buy. So all we heard yesterday was how much he loves Santa and how great Santa is.

I think it's time we tell him the truth.

We made a deal not to get anything for each other, between my husband and I. We're supposed to be getting a house. But we haven't closed on it yet so we basically canceled Christmas. The in-laws can't help themselves no matter what we say, so we got clothes and gadgets and things. Mother in law has gotten good at shopping, I'll wear everything she picked out for me.

My family gifted food and their presence at Grandma's.

I got my husband an indoor growing kit for everything needed for pizza ingredients. 2 years ago he picked up a big interest in gardening. He was very happy! Self watering and everything.

He got me the mother of all mixers, straight out of the 50's only it's a new Kitchen Aid. Guess he got tired of pouring while I stirred. It should last forever.

Well hubby and I said we would not buy each other anything so of course he got me a necklace and bracelet (I love hubby and he loves to buy jewelry but I could care less about jewelry) and I bought him a 10 gun safe.

My mom got me a chicken book, and I got a new coffee maker. And lots of running cloths which makes me happy.

The chickens got a new heated waterer and the dogs got new toys and a couple elk antlers.

All in all it was a pretty nice Christmas. My sister made these brownie fudge things that I ate WAY to many of.
