WHATEVER SHE IS- I DON"T WANT HER!

I'm a newbie, just starting out---I bought her from a local farmer who told me she was a Welsummer...I thought "cool, beautiful brown eggs (that was all i could remember about Welsummers) and much to my surprise she has been laying a WHITE egg every day! I called the guy & he said I could swap her for a Barred Rock but I already have some of those so I'd just like to get my $15 bucks back for this phoney chicken....I am in Orange County NY. For what its worth, she is pretty easy to handle, calm.

She does have some Welsummer coloring, but she also looks very, very much like a crossbred pullet I had, now owned by rooster-red, named Hazel, who is an Easter Egger/Barred Rock cross. However Hazel laid a tannish egg, not white:

i dont mean to start anything but you are mad because she lays white eggs?
there is no differance in white, brown, blue, green, or pink. they all have the same insides.
if she is a beautiful calm easy to handle chicken i say keep her! thats hard to find.

She has the wrong leg color for a Welsummer, but otherwise resembles them.
I think she looks like a Black Sex Link. When they are colored like that, we call them Straw-necked. But whatever she is, she should be laying a brown egg with that color of ear lobes. Is it really white, we get some that look white until you put a white egg next to it, then it looks tan colored.

It's too bad I'm not closer, I'd take her in a heartbeat! I'm sure you will find a good home for her closer to you.
