What is a fair price for a 2010 hatch Silver Pied cock bird? He is very nicely colored/marked. I have an opportunity to buy one and I'm just wondering what the going rate is for such a bird.

OK, since I stumped the experts and got no response from the "experts", I'll word it differently. Is 200 too much for this bird?

Also, does 200 sound about right for a purple spaulding hen, 2010 hatch? Both sound a little high to me, but they are great looking, well bred birds.

If I wanted them bad enough, I'd pay the price. It does seem to me to be on the high side though. I think the going rate would vary depending on the availability of peafowl in your area of the country. The laws of supply & demand, you know? Frankly, I could probably get that with no problem for my 2010 silver pied male, who is also very healthy & well bred & superbly marked, & also for my Buford Bronze 2010 male. (but they are not for sale for any price)!

speaking of price what is a fair price for 2010 hatch male black shoulder.????

Thanks for all the input. I agree that 200 is steep for them, but as a sidenote, he has unusual abundance of color for a silver, and looks like he will be a spectacular bird when mature. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the spalding, because you just don't see many of them in my area. I'll try to work with the seller on a "package deal" if I take them both.

Thanks I wasn't out of line with my pricing. I was afraid I was... times are tough and no one has much money to invest. I had a lady ask what they were good for, I thought if you have to ask you don't understand.
