Whats a good all around feed for chickens?

Hi!


I was feeding my pullets starter feed till they went outside, than it was scratch.

But i read something that said

"Dont feed scratch to chickens in warm weather cause it raises their body temp."

So what do you think i should feed them instead of that?

I give em veggies almost every day but thats not enough, its just a treat

So what do you think?

I use Purina layena and give them veggies every day!

They need grower or starter/grower til they lay, then layer feed. Scratch is a treat only. It does not have the nutrition they need.

ddawn is right...scratch alone does not have the nutrition your chooks need. They need the starter/grower up till they begin to lay.I am a big fan of Purina's Feed. My chooks love to free range and gobble up tender seedlings and will run you down if they see you have buttermilk or yogurt, and pile on the fruits and veggies. They will follow you around.
