hahaha.. thanks.. i think we'll probably get a couple more, but i think i'd like to get something different other than rhode island reds.

My sex-links are awesome layers, but my barred rock started laying first. She's awesome... so much so that I sprung for 6 BR pullet chicks I didn't need. I accidentally got 4 dominiques (couldn't tell comb yet) trying to get BRs before I found the others (sexed, 'cause I have bad luck).

Variety is the spice of life. I have a single white EE, and she lays these gorgeous blue eggs. I love finding them. And really, how many is too many? I have 5 acres, and although they don't free range, the flock is growing pretty quickly.

, I am not in the process of getting rid of the hens. However I got 13 chicks in the brooder and 2 ducks and when these come out, I am gonna do a batch of probably 20 or so. I did a small run cause I wanna see which I like better the RIR or Barred Rock. We shall see.

We must have the same yard!!! LOL

Actually, we have decided to fence our entire yard in now, due to our chicken addiction. I've now pulled my husband over to the other side. Ha ha ha ha... (Evil laugh)
