Bought Lavender Orp eggs.
One came out light bright pretty SOLID yellow. Asked the breeder what it could be ...was it an LO ?she said it must be a mottled as her one hen carrys the gene and its still an LO"

Questions is what will it look like grown its solid yellow now. And can it be "mottled" if its all yellow?

What would i expect to get if it is crossed with an LO roo IF its a pullet.?

I saw a mottle chick on Ebay but doesnt look like mine, its yellow and grey and they dont show an adult.
Actually i was hoping it was a lemon cuckoo.
Any help appreciated

It will look like a lav orp. If you have another (with the gene) and breed them together you might get some with light mottling.
Thanks very much...not sure how many hens the eggs came from so possibly one of the other 3 has it also but none are yellow..Are the mottled rare?Is it like spots? or areas of yellow?
