What's better...crumbles or pellets?

I MOSTLY USE THE PELLETS, I GET ALOT MORE EGGS WITH THE PELLETS THAN THE CRUMBLE. I DO KEEP BOTH KINDS BECAUSE IN THE EVENING THEY GET A MIXTURE OF BOTH. THE CRUMBLE DOES CAUSE ALOT OF WASTED FOOD THOUGH.

I always use pellets. Almost no waste. I feed on the ground, so pellets are easier for them to see. It seems when I use crumbles it attracts wild birds.

I like pellets...there is no waste. My girls show no preference to either pellet or crumble. I only feed crumble to my littlest chicks until they are around 16 weeks old. Then I switch it to pellets.

the layers (big breeds) and turkeys are eating pellets, the seramas are eating crumbles, the silkies get some of each and they all get some redneck rooster, the ducks get pellets. The wild birds get their own food too.Suet and a finch blend
nobody goes hungy if I know about it- even the mice and rats get "special" food- but they don't seem to come back for seconds;)

My greedy hens would rather starve than eat crumbles

Tell me about it, mine come running every time they see me, but when they figure out I don't have what they like they completely ignore me!!!

They say crumbles are actually better, because chickens naturally scratch around for food and with crumbles, it takes them longer to get the amount they need. But - I use pellets; much less wastage!
