What's better...crumbles or pellets?

YOU TALKING ABOUT THE CRUMBS BEING AS in THE GROWER FEED ? AND THE PELLETS AS IN LAYING PELLETS ?

I READ WHERE YOU ONLY GIVE LAYING PELLETS ONCE THEY START LAYING .

As for wasting , I found since they are in the RUN area there is alot LESS waste . I put large ceramic bowl type containers outside and anything scratched out is on the ground , so they pecking away like crazy .

I do NOT put feed or food in the chicken coop , they eat ALL they want during daylight hours in the run area .

I have feeders in the pen and coop......but they knock the crumbles out and in the pen they just get scratched into the ground. I have 43 girls. 15 are 2 mos. old the rest are full grown now.

Layer and grower feed usually comes in both crumbles and pellets.

Chick feed is crumbles (I've never seen pellets... anyway)

I always feed pellets once they are past the chick starter phase.

MUCH MUCH less mess and waste, hands down.

Thanks everyone.........I've decided to start using the pellets.

Once mine reach the age where they need layer I plan to switch them to pellets. They steal the goats pellet feed, so I doubt I'll have a problem with the switch.

Hi,
Where does everyone get the pellet feed?
I have yet to find any place near me that has them. I've tried feed stores, Tractor supplie stores, and cannot seem to find any place that offers anything other than crumble.
One feed store has a mix they made, I bought it and it looked wilk pancake mix........needless to say, won't buy it again, BIG WASTE!
Any suggestions?
Thanks a million!
Angela
