What's everybody doing for Thanksgiving time off?

I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner... or rather lunch. Then will enjoy an nice relaxing afternoon in the deer stand with my bow hoping a deer decides to get close enough for a shot. My DH and kids will be going to DH's uncles house.

My boys and I are going to perform our duties as deer management specialists! The Poppy said the kids could shoot a couple deer off his lease. So we are ditching the mama and are going hunting!!

Shoveling pea gravel into the chicken run. I'm glad you posted this, I forgot to call earlier and just found out the rock yard is closed all weekend this year. Hopefully, DH can go there after work for me.

My mom is the lucky one. She is in Miami for some kind of nascar champianship (some people probably know what Im talking about) then after that they are heading to Key West. THey left Saturday and will be home Tomorrow night.

Friday was my last day at work till Dec 1. I has planned to do allot of baking so I can have goodies at Thanksgiving since being diagnosed with celiac disease and cannot ear anything with wheat or gluten.. BUT....
DH brought me a deer to process Fri night. Then 2 more on Saturday. So I have spend the whole time processing deer and just got all 3 cut and first grind done.

Now have to make way for the new corn stove DH bought....

Then have to finish deer mixing it and making jerky, summer sausage, brats, ect and got the high temp cheese and OMG it is sooooooo expensive....

So prob. wont get much baking done .....oh well there is always Christmas break where we are off for almost a month. Hopefully no more deer to process I am running out of room,

let alone patients LOL.... I am sooo sick of raw meat

I have 5 days off. Bake pies, cook and eat turkey, ride pony, take naps, play with grandkids, ride pony, more naps. Play with chickens and bunnies. Ride pony.

Going to visit brother-in-law and to DH's high school reunion on Friday. My mother is coming to visit tonight and staying till tomorrow--I have to cook dinner, as she is not allowed in the kitchen. So today I have to clean, thaw chicken, pick up some last-minute groceries, do laundry. Wasn't originally going to take today off work, but they owe me comp time and my boss said I might as well.
