Keep in mind we are dealing with a Congress of wounded poultry, in other words lame ducks. They will meet for the "lame duck session," but little attention will be given to most things other than passing a budget and whether or not to keep the Bush Tax Cuts. The Democrats are losing power and may try to use their current majorities to push some items through prior to the new congress being seated in January. Any currently introduced bills, not acted on by the lame ducks will be toast. News bills will have to be introduced after the new congress convenes. The thing to be on the lookout for right now is governmental agencies putting new regulations in place without going through congress first. There has been a lot of speculation that a lot of what is now considered dead legislation may be adopted as regulations by federal agencies.
