whats going on with my chickens??

My Buff Orpingtons are 19.5 weeks old and all three of them are screaming. One is in a nesting box. They have not started laying yet. Is this normal?

They may be reacting to one getting ready to lay. Mine do that, sometimes the one on the nest starts it and others join. But I would also look around for any danger they may have seen, such as a snake or other creature....

Does the screaming 'kinda sound like a lion mixed with a bird? That could be a sort of scream at other hens, meaning "Hey! My nest! Find your own!" Or just "Bak, bak, bak, bak, bak, bak, bak, BUKA!" Which is an egg song meaning "Everyone! I laid an egg! I'm SO amazing!"
