What's going on with this black sizzle roo?

So, the majority vote was correct: this little guy turned out to be a guy. He's supposed to be a black silkie/black frizzled cochin mix. What's up with the gold highlights he's getting in his neck feathers (is there a real term for those?)? Is that normal? He's also getting some white along the edges of his wing feathers. I'm going to have to re-home him and I'm not getting much response from my current postings here and on craigslist so I'm going to take a tip from realtors and emphasize his best features,but I'm not sure the correct terminology.
