You guys have been so helpful with any questions I have had, so thanks so much for that
I know there many threads on this, but I am so shocked because my cochin rooster has just tried to attack me. He is around two years old, and is a HUGE guy. Three times in a row over the past few days he has tried to jump onto me when I am doing their food or water. He then starts jumping around in a circle jumping up and pecking at my clothes. What's gotten into him?
We have had practically no aggression from him before - we've never turned him into a lap-chicken but he's been tame enough we can pick him up without any fuss or handle his hens.
I am at a loss. He is beautiful and amazing when it comes to protecting his hens, he herds them up at night and finds them treats and all that.
He is still eating from my hand and sometimes lets me do the chores without a fuss but three times he has decided to go ballistic. I've just scooped him up and locked him in the run each time.
What else can I do? I really really want to keep this little guy.
