I wasn't sure what topic to put this under- But I figured this might be a genetic things from the parents?
Okay, I've had slow feathering birds before- but never like this.
I've got a white cochin bantam chicks that I hatched a little over 2 months ago- it's the size of a 2 week old chick and only has wing feathers.
Even then it's wings are barely grown in.
It hasn't grown since it was about 2 weeks old, not even in comb size.
I wish I had other white cochin bantams the same sge to compare with but I don't. But I did just hatch some more a week and s half ago- But they've already got feathers coming in on their legs, feet and wings and are almost his this guy's size already.
Here it is:
(The chicks behind it are about the same age.)

This chick here is about 3 weeks younger and is already feathered in and bigger than him:

Could be super slow to feather/grow. I've got a 5 week old that looks 3 weeks, & still abit naked.

But on the other hand, yours is possibility a Failure to Thrive chick.

I's not just the feathers not coming in, it hasn't grown since week 2 at all.
Weight has increased, size hasn't changed, feet haven't grown, comb hasn't grown, etc.
Still sounds like a 2 week old also.
I'm getting pretty concerned about it.
The failure to thrive does sound more likely, can that be helped?

Failure to thrive chicks can't be helped unfortunately. There's usually a congenital problem they're born with.

Is it something I'll have to worry about the other chicks having? They're young now but they do have the same exact parents, I wouldn't want to create a flock of chicks experiencing failure to thrive all at once 😬.
I do hope that's not the case.
Now that i think about, all the cochins I've raised have feathered in well except these white ones- My white cochin chicks were always behind.
They've also been weaker then the others more times then not, I've had to adjust my ways a lot to help them stay healthy.

I don't think you should be worried as the rest are healthy. It's something within the chick didn't develop well.

This guy acted just like the ones now early on-
But then it just kicked in out of nowhere, I'm honestly surprised it's still running around with the other birds.
I'm worried it'll kick in just like that with the new ones. They're not even 2 weeks old yet.
I do hope you're right though.

No, unfortunate they're doomed.

I haven't had repeat FtTs from most of my pairings. Some just have poor genetics, but that's different than the failure to thrives too. The weaker genetics will still develop everything, it just takes longer. My failures never grew all their feathers in, even the one that was almost 4 months old
