I found this weird thick white sack inside an egg. What is it? I cut it open, but there was nothing inside.

This was inside the egg with a normal yolk. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought lash eggs were when the whole egg was filled with the tissue??
Sometimes when eggs are being formed they can back up or push forward so two eggs are incorporated into one. I'm not totally sure that's a lash egg, just guessing. Maybe @Wyorp Rock or @Eggcessive can give you a better idea what that is.

It was inside a "normal" hard shelled egg with yolk and albumen(white)?

I would lean toward lash material or "caseous exude" That pus looking layers surrounding that membrane. It does somewhat look like an shell membrane that was incorporated into the egg. Could have been a soft shell that traveled back up the oviduct and the body's response was to encase it. Regardless, if she were mine, I would treat as Salpingitis (Lash Egg). Seeking vet consultation is always best. If caught early, infection from Salpingitis may be treatable. Tetracyclines would be my first choice if I wanted to try treating her.

Have you ever had any illness within your flock - any sneezing, a little runny nostril, watery eye, etc.?
