What's left inside the egg???

This might be a really stupid question but I just hatched my first duck and left inside the egg is this gross glob. My son' wants to know what it is and I have no clue. Can anyone answer this question??

Duck oil, so they can turn in the egg. LOL Sorry, I wish I knew the correct terminology. Its prolly just left over egg white. the chick/ducky didn't need. Maybe some one who knows the propper names will post.
