Whats my chicken doing??

My chicken is about 4 months old she is a pullet. today she did somthing im not sure what she did she stood up really straght for like 5 mins than let out really loud crys she did it for at least 3 mins and than just stoped im not sure why she did that? any ideas?

We've never had a roo, but that's what I'd imagine crowing looks like.

mine do that as a warning.. if they see something overhead or a bunny in the yard or dog or cat.. she might be doing that

Sounds like she was startled and alerting to danger. Also sounds like she may be a he. (My roos are the ones who get tall and do most of the warning calls) Sorry.

What did these crys sound like? Sounds a bit like a young crowing cockeral or it could even be the warning/ egg song? Further description is needed. Was it bock bock bock or err er errrrrr?

I have a buff orpington who is a barker! Just walking along and she barks....arf! Loud and fast. . To the OP, what did the cries sound like?
