What's the best brand of Laptop?

I'm going to get a Laptop and want to get some opinions on brands. I'm think Dell or HP, are there any other brands I should be looking at? What brands do you all have? the pros and cons of each brand?

I've had a couple of Dells now I have a mac and so does my hubby. We would never got back to any other brand. IMO though if you have to choose between Dell and HP go with a Dell.

I've been using this Fujitsu for a long time. Very reliable and the monitor panel is the best I've ever seen.

And they are not that expensive either.

Toshiba, Dell and HP are rated highly, but rated by far the best is Apple. Of course they cost -- but you essentially don't get viruses, never mind their ease of use.

I have a Compaq that's a few months old, from Best Buy, probably last year's model, for $300. No complaints except I'm not fond of Windows 7, but then it's better than Vista would have been which fortunately I missed.

We have had this Acer Aspire for about 3 years and have never had a problem. I love it! We paid $400 at Staples and got a really nice Canon printer for free!

I have an 2005 HP still going strong,came with all the programs i needed.

If it is going to be used for anything business related I would go with dell.

Between all of the different brands I've tried,I like Dell and Acer best. My current laptops are Acer,My desktop is a 2004 model Dell 3000 who survived KAtrina. And my Touchsmart on order is a Dell. My netbooks are gateway,which,I'm kinda regretting them even though I paid 20$ each for em. I just never liked Gateway....
