What is the best chicken book you have found and enjoy?
"Keep Chickens" by Barbara Kilarski and Storeys, A Guide To Raising Chicken. by Gail Damerow
These are very good:
Still Life With Chickens, Starting over with a House by the Sea, by Catherine Goldhammer
Home to Roost by Bob Sheasley
If you want something enjoyable to read with good info and a good laugh, this one 'Hen and the Art of Chicken Maintenance: Reflections on Raising Chickens' great book
Anything by Gail Damerow.
the Gail Damerow book's, you can get that info right here and not have to spend the money on the book, very basic info.
"Living With Chickens" by Jay Rossier is another good one. Its one of my favorites.
Quote:Most "chicken" books are going to be basic information, as there are only so many ways you can write about chickens. However, each author writes in his/her own words, so even though one book may be similar to another, the points of views and opinions will usually differ greatly.
OH! And how could I forget.... "Extraordinary Chickens," and "Extra Extraordinary Chickens." For the life of my I can't remember the author's names, but if you aren't the reading type, these picture books are VERY entertaining.
Quote:+1 I just finished it and really liked it. It's a great big in-joke, though, so if you're looking for a how-to, this isn't the book. It's really a long commentary on the funny sides of having feathered dinosaurs.
