Hi guys,
we use a fully automatic incubator with a 240 egg capacity, used daily for incubating rhode island red eggs. I'll receive 90 pekin duck eggs and plan to incubate them together with the chicken eggs, during these 28 days the priority is to hatch the duck eggs successfully without loosing too many chicken hatchlings. I'm aware that the two different eggs have different humidity and temperatur needs and I'm willing to risk a lower hatchling rate for the chickens since the duck eggs will be a one time thing.
We incubate chickens at 37.8 Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) and I've read duck eggs need 37.5 Celsius (99,5 Fahrenheit).
Should we just go with the right temperatur for the ducks and hope for the best or is there a compromise temperator that might be worth trying?
Thanks for your opinions.
