What's the best way to get rid of moles?

Castor oil is not the poison. In fact, it can have tremendous healing powers when applied as hot castor oil packs to the body. For example, stop a severe gall bladder attack in minutes when applied properly.

I saw a website once that was promoting this device that farmers use to kill gophers and moles but it just made me laugh at the insanity of it. These people basically strap on a oxygen tank and pump the gas into the holes. When the hole gets full of gas they hit the switch and BOOM blows the tunnels to kingdom come.

Here is a video of it. I just think it is so hilarious that these tiny critters have caused humans to go to such measures.

I had moles when I first bought this house. At first I hated them. Tried everything I could think of. I agree with a previous post about chasing them out of a mound just caused them to dig two more elsewhere. I used gum, cat poop, human urine, gas etc. Anything will chase them out of a mound, just not chase them out of the yard. I tried the Victor traps which friends said worked. No luck. Did have a cat catch 1, and bring it to me. I kept a shovel next to the back door for the blitz attacks. Finally after waging a 2 year losing battle; I was watching one cold rainy January afternoon as another mound rose, and I just decided to give up. I became one with the moles.

You're not gonna believe this, but since that day, in the past 10 years not even 1 more mound.

Imp- I do occasionally have cravings for grubs tho.

sounds good.. can u clarify ( don't laugh at my ?) when u put the hose down in the hole are u putting water in it or is the hose for putting the gas in? we fight with gophers as well.. they don't mix well with horses for sure!

last year we used one of those solar sonic repellers.. its range isn't very far but it did seem to keep the moles out of the garden....our cats have never gotten one of the big moles ( which i had never actually seen in person until our dog killed one.. WEIRD is all i can say) our cats get the mini mole looking things though .. i guess i don't really know what those are because for YEARS i always thought those were the moles .. until i saw the "REAL" mole .. weird..

hose for pumping water in then the gas rides along the top of the water all the way through the tunnels and then boom sometimes we added more gas just depends on the distance to the next mound

Mine catch both. They won't eat either one. They actually don't even bring them to me...guess they're afraid I'm too dumb to know they're toxic.

I just find the carnage strewn about the acreage. Only actually seen 2 or 3 moles. Tons of voles.

Haven't seen a mole or gopher hole in several years.

For all those stating your cats catch moles, are you sure those aren't voles? They look very similar, but moles will have huge front feet whereas the voles do not. Voles can be easily caught in open fields, the moles rarely leave their tunnels. Cats aren't really known for digging. Our cats have caught tons of voles, never seen them catch an actual mole.

We've tried running water down their tunnels. Was only able to flush out one, but it was huge.

I have to agree.. the mole the dog got was huge.. our cats would never be able to get one of those.. they get the voles and the shrews

Milky Spore. It's the organic nematode stuff someone mentioned previously. We had moles tearing up our property and even with a psycho hunter cat and two dobermans trying their darnest to help us solve the problem, the moles kept winning. You can buy it at Lowe's or Home Depot or any farm store I 'm sure. You spread it on like fertilizer and it kills the grubs. I haven't seen a mole mound in my yard for several years since we did the milky spore application. And it's safe for your critters too. Good luck!
