Whats the diff between Pilgrim and Toulouse Geese

I looked at pics of both and they look the same. It said that the females were gray and the males white. Here is mine and was wondering what it was; a toulouse or pilgrim. Mine has to be a Gray toulouse, it doesn't have the white on the head.

Pilgrims are autosexing and more rare than Toulouse. I would say yours was a Toulouse.

Here's a flock of Pilgrims from Feathersite . . . the females really look a LOT like Toulouse, wow!!

Looks like Pilgrim females may have more white on their faces perhaps? I had no idea how similar they looked . . .

Me either. The white on their face is the only difference i see too.

The white right around the edge of the bill only, that will spread with age.
Feather color, again there is overlap but pilgrim geese generall about two shades lighter gray.

mine actually has white on top of its bill and a little beside it but not a lot. I dont know how old it is. you can see it in the 1st and 2nd pic

I dont know if it matters but mine has an orange ring around its eyes. Its very thin but there.

Where did you get it that you don't know what it is? My american blue looks similar to that, but the bill is not very orange at all.

Toulouse Geese

Toulouse Geese, sometimes called "Big Gray Geese", are very popular. The Toulouse that are sold by Ideal and most other hatcheries are not Standard Toulouse. They do not have a dewlap, are not as large and their body carriage is not as close to the ground. To purchase the more expensive Standard Toulouse, buyers need to locate exhibition breeders through the American Poultry Association. Toulouse goslings have a "U" at the top of the bill while Africans and Chinese have an arch. Standard Weights: Young Gander - 20 lbs., Young Goose - 16 lbs.
