What's the diff ?

I finally figured out how to tell my 2 Barred Rock pullets apart.

Weasel has orange eyes …..

And Hazel has, you guessed it, hazel eyes !

Hazel also looks a bit darker too. Some can be really hard to tell apart. It's one reason I keep different breeds.

Yes, I see. Weasel has more serrations in her comb as well.

These are my only two BRs ….. Now on to identifying the 5 Silver Wayndottes.

I stared at them for an hour this afternoon, and started to distinguish between the SLWs.

Very interesting. When I raised Cockers, I had black and also buff & reds. People would ask how I could tell the blacks apart. But, their faces and characteristics were different. Whereas my mother could never remember their names. Even when I had one red and one black sharing a stall. She still couldn't figure out who was who.

I have 2 cream leg bars in my flock that look almost identical. Their names are Eenie and Meenie

I also had a Miney and Moe. Moe was the rooster (he is no longer with me) and Miney turned into Rosey once she grew a rose comb.
