What's the difference between blue and lavender?

No; porcelain is still a lavender diluted bird.

I am wondering if it might be opal? Offhand I do not recall the genes theorized to be opal, but I *think* it might be a dominant white variation. I think there is a thread or two at BYC, and definitely at The Coop. It appeared in a flock of either OEGB or modern game bantams; can't recall which. Breeding has proven it is not lavender or blue. I'll have to go refresh my memory.

No, not porcelain. Not even close. Suze has given me a project to breed one of these males to a black hen. Problem is they are all afraid of her. So its taking a lot longer than I anticipated. She's known as the Witch for a reason.

Adding, I read the post Suze was talking about. Now I need to go see which of the boys is up for getting wet. She might have something on calling it Opal. If the pic was a bit clearer I would say yes, its Opal.

Maybe try AI? I have a hen who is like that; attacks most other birds, especially the boys. She's a tiny thing

Sissy, anything bred to white (exxcepting another white) is completely unpredictable.
