What's the difference?

What's the difference between a cock and a cockerel? Or is there a difference? Is cock a short of cockerel? First post, so I'm new to this. Thanks for your time

Age is the difference. Cockerels are the 'teenagers' as are pullets - generally defined as less than a year old. Cocks and hens are birds in excess of one year in age.

Exactly right. Boys & girls less than a year = Cockerels & Pullets. Boys & girls over a year old = Cocks/Roosters/Stags & Hens
