Unless you wanted to breed Araucanas or Ameraucanas, you might actually like the Easter Eggers better as they will typically outlay the parent stock and their eggs come in different colors. My granddaughter loves the colored eggs and for this reason I keep some EEs in my flock.

This is my first go at chickens and I know I ordered arucanas. That's definitely not what I got. I don't mind though. They're characters

Hatcheries frequently market Easter Eggers under the labels, Araucana or Ameraucana (frequently misspelled as Americana or Americauna--a sure indicator that they are EEs) and a whole lot of people buy them thinking that they are getting true Araucanas or Ameraucanas.

I checked the box araucana but did a lot of research before ordering them to know that that most likely wasn't what I was gonna get. Just wasn't sure what I got but they have green legs so I was curious.

The greenish legs is a sure sign that they are EEs.
