Well, I must agree with MissPrissy on the Blue Orpingtons. They have a nice temperament and are quite impressive with their color and their size. My Suede is super sweet and quite large, so much so that I call him my Big Blue Turkey. However, they are not easy to come by.

I love the Jap black looks and the spanish whitew faced.... not to mention the phoenix ..;..but when the man steps up to the plate....Ese far outways his crappy side.....he is romantic, loves to feed the ladies...and babies....is more excited about the egg than Gracie...who doesn't look at it twice...Ese gets up there and coo's to it and fixes the nest and goes on and on as if the brat laid it himself......but then again he is fairly fertile!!!! I wouldn't trade my cochins (bantam) for anything. As to your blue Orpington....now I know who that fellah is down the street that I love so much....my other crazy chicken friend rescued this ancient Roo that is the sweetest....except for their dog.....which he will go rounds with....but like mine knows if they do anything other than growl or run......

What about standard cochins?? There super gentile, lay nice large brown eggs and are really fluffy and pretty. Just a thought.
