What's the one thing you wish you had included in your coop?

Build an open air coop! Google it. Mine is 8x5 - 7' in the front, 5.5' in the back. Front has a huge window that is open year round (I live in NH). I just hang a heavy burlap curtain 1/3 of the way down on the window in the winter. I have 2 side windows that are open spring through fall and glassed during winter.

My coop is light and airy and a wonderful haven for my peeps.

Not sure i can limit it to just one thing. Usually I am adding something or rebuilding something, its a constant. With 20 plus coops I am always realizing I should have done this with one coop and should have done that with another. To isolate one thing:
I wish I laid down hardware cloth or Pavers on my dirt floor coops. I only have one left because I installed pavers in all but one of them.
Honorable Mention: An Integration brooder. I finally added it this summer when I installed pavers in a coop with a partial dirty floor (rat issue) Now I have less issues with chicks integrating.

A window or something like it that I can prop open in the heat of the summer. The vents can't handle the need for air flow in these heat waves we've been having. I open up the barn doors to the coop during the day when they are out free ranging the yard (& the neighbor's yards-they love the chickens!) but I'm afraid some little varmint will get in there & hide. When I'm tired at the end of the day & putting them away, sometimes I'm not on the ball... lol

I wish I had included a section for hatchlings to escape the abuse by the older birds.
My coop and run are just not big enough to allow the momma any breathing room as she is constantly chasing all but one other bird.
I also will be building a run sized and shaped so I can go sit in it to acclimate the young hatchlings to me.
And since I had no ideal the nest boxes should be below the roost bars; guess where I put them?
That will soon be rectified. I hope.
