what's the PERFECT duck for you??,mutts,pures,markings?

I was inspired after seeing SportTees's GORGIOUS new babies.

what REALLY attracts you to a duck?

for me, I love my mallards, I love my calls,pekins,muscovies.

but I am a HUGE sucker for ANY kind of mottling or broken up markings. I LOVE ducks with mottled feets, Junna, my magpie has BEUTIFUL feet LOL, real deep orange and black mottling, socks too(black legs with totally orange feet). I also like lots and lots of spots, or pattern, not too too fond of solid colored ducks LOL

some of my prettiest this year have been my mallard mixes.

I've become a runnerholic. It's so bad now that when I see another type of duck I think there's something wrong with its neck and the way it walks!
My first drake is a plain white. He's actually show stock - others from the same breeder have won prizes all over the province.
Now I have a lovely dark fawn and 3 lighter fawns. The lightest one of these has a navy blue bill, the other 2 are collared.
I have another fawn drake as well, with an army green bill.
I think I'll stick with my runners. They make me laugh.

We had muscovies when I was a kid. I loved them and have always loved the look of runner ducks. However, this one has stolen my heart. He is a pekin rescue and my only duck. I love him, crooked legs and all.

I love all breeds- pure and mutt. But seeing as i only have one of each breed... kinda..... Most of my babies are mutts. And I have mutts babies around often - seeing as how I am a sucker for the fuzzy butts! But I have to sell them... mostly... *wink wink*


I am a sucker for blue and white markings. I would love to have a blue splash.

Has anyone ever had a black and blue splash? That would be gorgeous!
I also love the white bluey color. Not like a cream or blush, just a light blue, or lavender. i am all for the od markings. I didnt want mallards becuause they are so common- but ended up with a drake.

I love my domestic bibbed mallard though! he is so many different shades of colors and has a gorgeous mask. I was going to name him Coon but then I livein a 85% black neighbor hood and I dont want to get shot by folk who take offense at everything.


My girl, Sharpie, is a magpiue named for her bill. When she was a duckling it looked like some one had streaked it with a sharpie. I love duck chests/ bellies. they are SOOOO Soft.


But I gotta say, one of the top things is the wings. If my guys werent so fussy id look at them all day. Most of the times I place them on a surface, say " show duck" , and they puff out their chests and stand straight for me. then I will extend their gorgeous wings.

I love it when the feathers are different colors/ patterns too. I collect feathers

I adore my anconas with their bold markings and cute marked feets.

And I love my Welsh Harlequin for their patterns too...
