I built a bigger avairy and I would like to get a pair of pigeons, but I don't know what I would use them for? Do they go broody often? If I were to get a pair they would have around 726 square feet and the highest point in the avairy is 12ft. No offense to anyone I just want to know what they are used for besides dog training cuz I dont do that!

flying mostly.... I just love watching my pouters/ croppers fly... and you can also have race birds... obviously for racing, tumblers/ rollers with their acrobatic performances... tipplers/ high flyers for endurance flights, breeding for colours and forms.... or you might want to breed them for food....

They are breath taking to fly

people sometimes race birds, and most who do take it very seriously. others raise for the meat. (usualy utility kings). some people do releases . and still others breed them to exibit. (show). once you know what ur going to use them for, lots of people on here, myself included, would love to sugest some breeds.

Also, when they pair up and start laying, they lay two eggs per clutch and take turns incubating them. Then once they hatch, they take turns feeding the babies for a month until they are weaned off. So they aren't like chickens who lay eggs every day.

OK, if I were to get a pair it would be so they can raise their young. Would it be ok to keep a pair with some peacocks? I know a guy who has some West of England Tumblers for sale.
