What's the rarest breed or variety you have?

Also look at this. Most of the OEGB cockerels have it. Doesn't this look like a perfect dubbing outline?

I have an Andalusian hen (Daisy, my favorite girl pictured in my profile). Probably not that rare, but I really just don't run across many people owning or talking about Andalusians. Oddly enough I got her at a feed store and have not seen them in feed stores since.
I love Andalusians!
I wish there were rose comb Andalusians, I don't really like floppy combs.

Hmm, interesting, he occupies a shade sort of in between what I would expect from either color... 🤔 I honestly am not sure, but based on other Khakis I have seen in show, I would say he's very likely a Khaki. Best way to know for sure would be to test breed him once he's older, if you have the space and some plain Silver Duckwing hens (or even just Black hens; the Polish behind him would even work for a test cross) for that.

I've noticed that on a few of my boys as well! Like they were pre-marked for convenience! 🤣 I don't dub my birds, but it does make it a little easier to picture how they would look if they had been dubbed.

I get it, I didn't think I would care for the floppy comb either, but it is just endearing at this point. Our winters don't get too bad to worry about it when it's cold. I've had her for 3 years and she has been my smartest, healthiest bird and lays very well. But I agree! Rose comb would be perfect!! (can you tell I am biased lol)

Penedesencas are interesting. They lay nice dark eggs, right?
IME not as dark as a well-bred Marans. Penedesencas lay a darker version of a Welsummer egg. More of a deep terra cotta red. Marans have a dark, chocolate color to their shell. They were interesting, but not something I'd probably raise again. Not to disparage the breed, but my experience just wasn't amazing with them.

I think it is a single comb.

Like the comb on a Leghorn hen, it is large and flopped over rather than standing up straight.

And like a Crested Cream Legbar, this hen's comb is pushed forward by the crest behind it, which affects which way it can flop.

It certainly makes a different appearance than most chickens with single combs!
Thank you!
