Also look at this. Most of the OEGB cockerels have it. Doesn't this look like a perfect dubbing outline?

I love Andalusians!I have an Andalusian hen (Daisy, my favorite girl pictured in my profile). Probably not that rare, but I really just don't run across many people owning or talking about Andalusians. Oddly enough I got her at a feed store and have not seen them in feed stores since.

I get it, I didn't think I would care for the floppy comb either, but it is just endearing at this point. Our winters don't get too bad to worry about it when it's cold. I've had her for 3 years and she has been my smartest, healthiest bird and lays very well. But I agree! Rose comb would be perfect!! (can you tell I am biased lol)I love Andalusians!
I wish there were rose comb Andalusians, I don't really like floppy combs.
Penedesencas are interesting. They lay nice dark eggs, right? At one time the rarest breeds I had were White Javas and Black and Crele Penedesencas. Of course, that was nearly 20 years ago when the Pens were just imported.
IME not as dark as a well-bred Marans. Penedesencas lay a darker version of a Welsummer egg. More of a deep terra cotta red. Marans have a dark, chocolate color to their shell. They were interesting, but not something I'd probably raise again. Not to disparage the breed, but my experience just wasn't amazing with them.Penedesencas are interesting. Thank you!I think it is a single comb.
Like the comb on a Leghorn hen, it is large and flopped over rather than standing up straight.
And like a Crested Cream Legbar, this hen's comb is pushed forward by the crest behind it, which affects which way it can flop.
It certainly makes a different appearance than most chickens with single combs!
Good news I got a hold of the breeder and he is send more for just the shipping! Happy dance!!I really want Isabel English Orpingtons. I ordered eggs unfortunately none of them are developing.been incubator for about seven days know. I think they have gotten scrabbled in the post.
