My lead hen Moon (provider of my first egg) a bantam EEer started laying on her twentieth week birthday and hasnt missed a day in sixteen days. She is quite the surprise. Princess (second layer)only went 8 days before missing. In the beginning I thought maybe every other day or something close to that from what Ive read about bantems I didnt expect every day at all.
Honey Moon's second in command started two days ago with what looked more like a rugby ball in shape of course much smaller but given her body size a very large egg I can't wait to see if it's a double yoker (I've been blowing there first egg). She then took a day off and layed a normal shape egg.
Back in probably June a friend gave me her 1+ year old golden comet. She has laid an egg every single day since then and one day apparently gave us two! She is an egg laying machine, go Sally!
Well our 22 week old RedSex Link went 23 days straight, then took saturday off and now back at it for 2 more in a row. Our other 4 are 20 weeks today and still ZERO eggs.
I have a leghorn that is an egg laying machine. She RARELY ever misses a day. I'll have to keep track of consecutive day once she finally take a day off. I'm really hoping she will take a long break this winter...she could sure use it.
My two Black Sex Links have laid every day for 31 days, since their first egg.
I have a Barred Rock that started about a week after them, and she's not missed a day, either. And, her eggs have gotten HUGE!
There were always two eggs in the nest, then three when the BR started, and there's been three every day since. Sometimes four, but that's the Leghorn, and her eggs are obvious (also, she's an afternoon layer).
