whats up with my rir

i am not shure who is laying what i get a small light brown egg and a bigger dark one. my smaller rir is sitting on my hard boiled egg i have in there. she sings the egg song but some times there isnt an egg. does she think the white hard boiled egg is hers and y is she laying on it. 1 to 2 hours a day

My light brahma will lay her egg and then settle back down and lay on it. (with the fake eggs) Sometimes for like 2-3 hours. She's not broody (yet) and she will let me take the egg out from under her without any attitude.

I don't think chickens are that discriminating.............if it looks like an egg, feels like an egg, then it must be an egg.

There was one person here who posted that her hen had gone broody and was trying to hatch a pecan nut. Funny post.
