My rooster is really behaving strange. A couple months ago he began becoming listless and just sat around all day..so we cleaned his feet just in case and let him stay in the house a night for hopefully recovery. Well a couple days later he went back to laying around. He is all slouched over too. I have a picture also. It's kind of dissapointing because I really wanted chicks this spring but he hasn't been doind his "job".

I checked his feet they are fine...But he's just....strange

Any help greatly appreciated!

Take a close look at his vent area. Mine did this and he was FULL of red northern fowl mites. I gave him a dusting and in two to three days he was back to normal

Hope that is all it is! Also give him some vitamins or fried eggs for some extra protein. Maybe even some children vitamin drops.

He looks depressed, which usually means they are sick or wormy.

I would worm him and put him on some anitibiotics and see if that didn't perk him up.

I agree that he looks depressed.
also can't see his comb very good but what I see looks kinda pale.
could be parasites or some kind of anemia.

He has frostbite, we live in MN and one night it got pretty dang cold.

But thanks for allthe replys! I will go check his vent right now and see about that wormer! Thanks!

I agree. Probably worms or mites/lice. Check his vent area for lice/mites (you can check under all his feathers for lice...they will be hiding everywhere, usually connected to a feather shaft, if he has them), and check his droppings for worms.

Good luck and I hope you figure out what's wrong with him soon! He looks so depressed with his droopy wings and tail.

Well, I saw the blackened part, figured it was either frostbite or dirt.
I meant the front part of the comb and also around his eyes looks pale to me.
My rooster looks really redish on these parts...

I'm just wondering, if he has parasites...then why doesn't any of his hens show signs of it? They all are fine, it's just him. And when I let them go outside he never goes out so eventually I just take him and put him out there. And then when its duck and they go in he doesn't go in. So I have to go back out and put him in...but he will walk up to the ramp and just lay down there...

I think he is the same age as four of the hens. He came from the same place as 4 of them:

Thats them on the first day I got them.

I think his crop is fine...I guess what shoudl I be feeling? It looks normal.
