I ordered a doz. bantam barred cochin eggs. I received 14 eggs. Two of the 14 never developed, but all the rest hatched, so I have 12 (6 week) chicks. They all looked similar in feathering males and females except for one. It doesn't look like the others. I am beginning to think I got one cross with something, maybe silkie. What do you all think?

Notice the feathers on both chicks feet.

I believe it is a rooster, but it sure doesn't have the feathering of a full barred. I don't know how it ended up with a bunch of fluff. He is a sweetheart though.

I think you should name him misfit

he looks like he is part silkie

lurky, that is a good name, thank you. I think I will call him that. I think he is part silkie also. That is the only breed I can think of that has all the fluff. Let me know if there are any other breeds that have fluff like that.
