What's up with this egg!?

Okay, I didn't really know where to ask this.
I cracked an egg for breakfast this morning and found this bloody little surprise Is this normal? I've had chickens a couple years now and never had this happen.
I grew up on a farm and remember getting eggs like this that were fertilized, but I don't have any adult roosters at this time.

It is just a blood spot. It happens sometimes in farm fresh eggs.

Thanks! Like I said, the only time I'd seen this before was as a kid with fertilized eggs. My grandma always told us to just pick it out and eat the dang egg! LOL!
